Bright Red Lips
Featuring Peter Farrell. With Irene Lambrou and Ken Ulansey
"Bright Red Lips" is the first song I wrote for my mom after she passed away during Covid. I didn't write the song until after my Dad passed early the next year. I was reading Dad's book of short stories and essays he published on his 92nd birthday, and there's a story about my mom. Dad says: "She didn't walk on water, but she knew where all the stumps were." I loved the line, and it's what finally broke the wall I had around my grief, and allowed the song to flow. So, in a way, this song is for both of them.
